A landmark agreement was signed between Queenland horse associations on Friday 22 May 2009 at Sports House, Brisbane
to create "The Queensland Performance Horse Industry Alliance".
The Alliance is made up of......
The organisations are committed to:-
...
improving the level of recognition of the performance horse industry
...
providing a united voice to the Government on industry needs and national equine issues
...
providing a mechanism through which the industry can be rallied and represented in times of horse related crises.
QPHIA Chairman, Kent Wells, said that "the 22nd May 2009 could be one of the most significant days in the history of the Queensland
performance horse industry."
"We discovered a massive hole in our industry from the Equine Influenza outbreak and today we are ensuring better representation
for the industry through all levels of government."
The Queensland Polocrosse Association President, Philip Hughes, was present to sign the Agreement on behalf of the QPA.
In the next six weeks over 200 events will be run by the members of the new Qld Performance Horse Industry Alliance.
