AUSTRALIAN WORLD CUP POLOCROSSE TEAM-WELCOME HOME

The Polocrosse Association of Australia is looking forward to welcoming home the Australian World Cup Polocrosse team when they touch down tonight at both Sydney and Perth Airports. They travelled together to Singapore where 2 of our players went on to their home state, Western Australia.

Australia finished the Polocrosse World Cup at Rugby in the United Kingdom third after they beat the USA convincingly in their final game 31-8.

Australia was passionate to retain the World Cup trophy; however it went home with South Africa after a 29-18 victory over Zimbabwe.

This was very disappointing for Australia however Coach Ross Shepherd did a magnificent job rotating players in the final game and the best he possibly could with the horses we were generously provided.

Polocrosse is an Australian Made sport which the Polocrosse Association has developed in many countries overseas and it is rewarding to see the outstanding level it is played on the international stage.

Australia may not have won the World Cup, however the P.A.A is extremely proud of their magnificent performance.  The Australian team Cameron Shepherd Captain from Warwick, Qld,  Alison Mathie, Lance Anderson, Sandra and Will Weston all from NSW, Jess Jolly, Victoria and Jodi Tiver and Robert Sibley WA are outstanding  ambassadors for both the sport of polocrosse and their country.

The team had great support at Rugby during the World Cup with a bevy of polocrosse enthusiasts travelling to the UK to cheer on the green and gold.

The PAA acknowledges the valued support of the Australian Sports Commission as a proud partner with Polocrosse Australia providing funding at both high performance and grassroots level.
