...........................................................................................................................................
The Event in Australia - 2003 & 2007
The Inaugural World Cup was held in 2003 in Warwick, Queensland, Australia.
The second World Cup was held from 23-29 April 2007 also in Warwick. The opening ceremony was conducted by the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia - His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC.
Australia has won both World Cup titles – defeating New Zealand in 2003 and the United Kingdom in 2007.

The Competitors
Eight nations competed for both the 2003 and 2007 World Cups - Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, USA, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
Each participating country has an equal chance of winning the title, as the eight competing nations play in two draws, using an even pool of Australian horses.
Where
This historic event was held at Australia’s premier polocrosse facility - Morgan Park in Warwick on Queensland’s Southern Downs.
Horses
The entire pool of horses for this unique competition was supplied by Australia. World Cup Horse Co-ordinators, Kent Wells and Neville Gilpin, travelled around Australia, from June 2006 to inspect and grade all the horses. The co-ordinators then determined each horse's placement into individual horse pools. All nations will have an Australian Horse Co-ordinator appointed with their pool of horses who had the duty to care for all their assigned horses.
Each nation will draw a pool of twelve (12) horses for the World Cup. Each pool will be graded equally and a reserve pool of horses will be available. If a horse is removed from a pool it will be replaced by a horse of the same grade.
Each participating nation is allocated one (1) hour per day for practice sessions in the week leading up to the start of the World Cup competition.
The Sponsors
Ridley AgriProducts was the major sponsor for the 2007 Polocrosse World Cup. Ridley is Australia’s largest stockfeed manufacturer with brand leaders such as Barastoc, Rumevite and Cobber, making it a perfect fit for this world class equestrian event.
