          2007 World Cup Horses
 

All horses for the Ridley Polocrosse World Cup 2007 will be sourced from within Australia with The Australian Stock Horse Society our official promotional partner.

The sourcing of 200 horses for the Cup marks the second largest horse recruitment drive in Australia's peacetime history.

World Cup Horse Co-ordinators
Kent Wells and Neville Gilpin have been appointed to the task. They will travel around Australia, from June 2006 to inspect and grade all the horses. The co-ordinators will then determine each horse's placement into individual horse pools (see more below).

Key Dates
Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 April 2007 all pool horses arrive at Warwick from across Australia. At 9am on Tuesday 17 April 2007 all competing nations participate in the Australian Stock Horse Official Horse Draw at Morgan Park.

Australian Horse Co-ordinators
All nations will have an Australian horse co-ordinator appointed with their pool of horses who will have the duty to care for and look after all their assigned horses.

Horse Pools
Each nation will draw a pool of twelve (12) horses for the World Cup. Each pool will be graded equally and a reserve pool of horses will be available. If a horse is removed from a pool it will be replaced by a horse of the same grade.

Horse Grades
For the World Cup horses will be graded from 0 to 10. Cup horse co-ordinators Neville Gilpin and Kent Wells will travel around Australia during 2006 to inspect and grade all the horses.

Horse Draw - Pool Selection
At 9am Tuesday 17 April 2007 the Australian Stock Horse Society - Official Horse Draw will occur. To determine the draw, two (2) draws will take place.

  • First draw will be for place in draw.
  • Second draw will be for pool of horses.

Practice Sessions
Each participating nation will be allocated one (1) hour per day for practice sessions in the week leading up to the start of the World Cup competition.
