To be eligible to participate in the Ridley Polocrosse World Cup 2007 countries must be financial members of the International Polocrosse Council (IPC).

In 2005, the IPC confirmed Australia's rights to stage the 2007 Polocrosse World Cup which sparked keen competition from three states to host the Cup. By December 2005 Queensland was confirmed the winner. Warwick's success in staging the inaugural World Cup stood it in good stead, as did strong community and state government support, through the Queensland Events Corporation.

When nominations closed at 31 December 2005, all eight nations who participated in the 2003 Cup confirmed their interest in returning, namely:

Participating Nations: Australia, Canada, England, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, United States, and Zimbabwe

Organisers may consider participation by non-IPC countries (other national teams) at "invitation matches" during competition week and a number of expressions of interests have been received.
