Preparations The NZ Polocrosse Board arranged two separate quick-fire tours to New South Wales, Australia in mid 2006. Although not considered tests, they allowed the coach to assess individual members playing on borrowed horses. Practices continued throughout the off-season with the Ladies having a full two-day weekend practice, plus a total of three days for the entire squad in July/August 2006. A key focus is on developing individual squad members fitness levels. The New Zealand team is sponsored by Ancare. |
For its World Cup campaign, the NZ Polocrosse Board has formed a Supporters Club and a publicity campaign is underway. New Zealand Polocrosse Council (Inc) was formed in 1974 although Polocrosse was played there since 1967.
Today there are about 330 players and 18 clubs in the land of the long white cloud. For more see their official website click here |
