COUNTRIES SCORE
Zimbabwe v Canada 36:5

We've been waiting all week for Zimbabwe to play this standard of polocrosse and they've come out and played to their fullest ability. Canada still has a little bit of work to do to lift themselves to Zimbabwe 's level. But many believe Canada has been one of the big improvers since the 2003 World Cup and the crowd supported them vocally with Kayla Hicks a strong player for Canada .

Andrew Baker, Zimbabwe player , said “we were very impressed with the umpiring, there was absolutely no agro on the field and it was played in a very gentlemanly manner. Of course we are happy with the win and our horses are going very well. It is only our second time playing under lights and it was a great experience, even though the crowd did seem to be favouring Canada .”

Kayla Hicks from Canada said, “we haven't played under lights before, it was really good fun and we had no problems with them. The sportsmanship was really good, one of the Zim girls even picked up my racquet when I lost it. When Pam finally got ‘that' goal it just felt wonderful.

Chris Miller, Canada , said “we are very happy with our horses and with our overall improvement. It was a great game we have been looking forward to playing Zim, as we are staying in the same Hotel we've become good social buddies.

USA goals: Catherine Pickens 14, Rob Shuttles 14.

COUNTRIES SCORE
Ireland v USA 30:18

From the first whistle of this night semi-final Tara Power, Ireland number 1 was on fire. She played all four chukkas at number 1, throwing 19 goals for the match. She was well supported by Avis Wotton at number 3. Adian McDonagh was outstanding in defense and attack combining well with Seb Chambers in the men's section.

USA women's section struggled to gain clean possession from line-outs. With both Catherine Pickens and Erin Smoyer playing 1 throughout the match. USA captain Robbie Shuttles played 4 chukkas at number 1 and played some outstanding polocrosse to keep his side in the match until the final chukka. He threw a total of 14 goals for the match.

Tara Power Ireland player said, “it was brilliant game, clean with no bashing and crashing. Those USA girls just kept coming at us, they never gave up. It was good to see. We've got fabulous horses in our pool and would like to thank the owners. I would personally like to thank Heather Barn and the Davidges for the loan of their horses.

USA player Robbie Shuttles said, “it was a good hard game, we have developed a friendly rivalry since the 2003 World Cup when Ireland lost to us. Since the cup we have exchanged men's and women's tours. Our teams are fairly evenly matched. The Irish women were very dominant tonight, but our girls still had a lot of fight in them. I would like to convey the same sentiment as Tara, the horse pools are brilliant. Terry Blake and the Parkinsons lent me Conchita. I'd like to take her home!
